Arabic Edible and Medicinal wild plants as dietary sources for anti diabetic antioxidants & lipid lowering materials

Pharmaceutical research conducted over the past decades has shown that natural products are a potential source for new drug candidates for many diseases in general, and diabetes in particular. An intensive research aimed at revealing new natural sources to treat diabetes are of high importance.

The aim of our project: is to screen and identify medicinal and edible anti diabetic plants among the plants used by herbal Arab practitioners in Palestine and  Israel, specifically in the Triangle area, and to evaluate their potential by scientific in vivo and in vitro methods used in our laboratories, as anti diabetic and antioxidant sources.
